On Friday 12th January we held our annual Presentation Evening, once again at Middleton Hall Retirement Village. We presented the final donations to our 2017 charities and also formally introduce our charities for 2018.
We were thrilled to present our 2017 charities Butterfly Giving and Family Help Darlington CIO with their final cheques for £9,300. Both charities were also presented with a cheque for £1,000 each at our Annual Anniversary Luncheon. This represented the money raised by Barclaycard colleagues who ran the Tombola. Barclaycard, as part of their commitment to support local charities, match any funds raised by its colleagues. This means each charity has also been credited with a further £1,000 directly to their bank account to match the amount raised by the Barclaycard team.
That’s an amazing total of £11,300 each for Butterfly Giving and Family Help Darlington CIO.
Introducing our 2018 charities
We also had the opportunity to introduce our three 2018 charities. They are all driving amazing charity work across the North East of England. Our three 2018 charities are JPC Community Farm, Neoangels and We Can Dance.
A representative gave a short overview of their charity and how the substantial funds raised by NELD this year will be spent. The evening was full of fantastic anecdotes, inspiring memories and ambitious goals. Guests from the event quickly shared how enjoyable they found it.
You can see a selection of photos from the event below. All photography was taken by Lauren McEvoy from Neoangels and we’re very grateful for her support. We’d also like to thank our President Jean Stewart and Middleton Hall Retirement Village for their hospitality.
